Praise for Consummate Connecticut
There's a line (or two) by a famous poet that calls to mind Stacy Lytwyn Maxwell's accomplishment in "Consummate Connecticut Day Trips with Panache:" "And the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time..." I would hardly characterize myself as an old-timer in this wonderful state of ours, but like anyone who's been here for any length of time, I am a typical Connecticut Yankee who thinks he knows his state and its many interesting, elegant and beautiful byways. But to read Maxwell's printed tour of places like Windsor and Hartford feels like knowing this place for the first time. In four hundred years of recorded history, Connecticut is a state of many facets, large and small, and it's a pleasure to see them displayed in a manner that makes you want to explore them all over again - or discover them for the first time. — Verne Gay, Newsday (NY) Critic
